My name is Jennifer and I live in Charles County with my husband of 9 years, our three beautiful daughters and our miniature poodle, Max. My path to becoming a doula started in 1996 after the birth of my first child. I felt so empowered by the birth of my daughter that I knew a career in the childbirth field was my calling. My education began like many other doulas, learning more about childbirth and pregnancy as I went through two more of my own. The benefits of doulas began to come into the spotlight and I knew that wanted to help provide empowerment, education, and support to women during their special year. I am currently working through CAPPA towards certification as a labor doula. I have completed all requirements except my research and essay papers. Having breastfed my three daughters successfully with the help of La Leche League I wanted to give something back. I am an accredited leader and provide free breastfeeding support and information. Please call 301-374-6563 for assistance.
My Doula Philosophy Childbirth is a beautiful and empowering experience. It is my belief that a woman should have the best birth she can experience. I try to keep an “open” philosophy regarding birth because each individual is different and every birth is special. My client’s birth philosophy is the one that is important. I will encourage and support both you and your partner according to your philosophy and desires throughout your birth to help ensure a safe and satisfying birth experience. |
